ENOUGHISENOUGH

I have never been prouder to be Nigerian. I have not smiled more broadly in 2010 as I did today.
Today about 2000 Nigerian Youth marched to the National Assembly in Abuja. They demanded to speak to the House Speaker; Dimeji Bankole. But they were stopped from entering the building as policemen barricaded the entrance. So, they began the peaceful protest by sitting outside under the intense hot sun.
They sat calmly until they got irritated. Why were they not allowed inside? And so they used a bit of force to enter the premise. The policemen (from what I gathered) offered relatively little resistance.
In Omotola's words "Don't they know that we are also fighting for their children." I think that they did indeed know.
The time has come for Nigerians to say ENOUGHISENOUGH. They did so today. 75% of Nigerians are aged 35 and below. Nigeria is in our hands. We can decide what happens here. We are the majority, we have the power, we can dictate what goes on.
But we can't dictate anything if we remain silent. We must speak so that we can be heard. We must speak out loud so that we can be heard all the way in ASO rock.
And if they do hear our voice but choose to ignore it, then we must act out. Act and show them that though we are young, this is no child's play. We do mean business.
To all those who marched, Dalu. You have made this tired, sleep-deprived college student proud!
Kisses and Hugs People!
